Fill a Grocery Bag for our Hawai'i Island neighbors
Every week, three Salvation Army corps community centers across Hawaiʻi Island keep their pantry shelves stocked for those who need it most. In Hilo, Honokaʻa, and Kona, these weekly pantries serve neighbors facing food and housing insecurity that only compounds during a hard season, and this year's active hurricane season has made that need greater than ever.
Kūpuna managing a fixed income. Parents balancing rising costs. Neighbors carrying more than they should have to carry alone. For some families this year, it's their first time ever visiting a food pantry, a step of faith that isn't easy in one of life's hardest seasons. At our pantries, people are met with dignity, a caring hand, and the chance to join community at our corps activities throughout the week.
Right now, the need is outpacing our supply. $50 fills one grocery bag. $150 fills three bags. $500 keeps 10 families stocked for a week.
